About

Philaphood’s tagline is: “Cooking and Eating in Philadelphia, Plain and Simple.” And it really is as simple as that. The principles of the site are: attentive writing and photos about food and cooking in Philadelphia (and sometimes elsewhere); no names, no faces. I suppose I could have anonymized places as well, but this would have been challenging, considering the blog’s name and tagline. As the perspicacious reader will gather, the Philaphood blog’s humble beginnings can be traced to the 2000s, following which it went into the freezer for a few years. Now, in 2020, I have thawed it out. Why? Because cooking, eating and writing about food is good for the world, and the world really needs good things these days. About me: I am Philaphood’s curator, and I have two cats, many friends, and a family that likes to eat. Please send comments and questions about Philaphood here. —K.
